MANILA, Philippines- Maxene Magalona will work with the Kapamilya network for the first time.
The speculation that she'll moving to the Kapamilya network from the Kapuso network came out after she appeared in “It's Showtime” as guest 'hurado' until Pia Magalona, Maxene's mom and manager confirmed the news.
“I'm actually going to be part of a new show kasama sina Zanjoe Marudo, si Beauty Gonzales, si Gloria Diaz, Tirso Cruz III,” Maxene said in an interview on Saturday.
The young actress said “there are no bridges burned” with the Kapuso network, and that “I'm so grateful sa kabila sa lahat ng trabahong binigay nila sa akin.”
Maxene is not in an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN, but doing a project with the network is her way of “just trying things out, and as an artist I just want to grow and do my thing.”
Meanwhile, Maxene is part of the recent event by Matrix Salon, a popular salon from the U.S., which is the 8” Cut for Cancer Challenge. Here, people were encouraged to cut at least eight inches of their hair which will be transformed into a wig.
These wigs will be given to Kythe Ateneo, an organization that helps kids with cancer by giving psychosocial assistance when they're undergoing chemotherapy.
“Alam naman ng lahat na malapit sa puso ko ang advocacy or cause na para sa cancer awareness because I lost my own dad to leukemia five years ago,” Maxene said, referring to her father Francis Magalona.
So she encourages the people, especially the ladies to “join this cause kasi talagang... alam mo na every girl naman talaga laging nagpapagupit, lagi tayong nagre-reinvent ng itsura natin. But this time, you're cutting your hair for a big cause.”
Those who would like to donate at least 8 inches of their hair could visit selected branches of David's Salon from October 26 to December 31, and mention your intention to donate your hair.
