MANILA, Philippines- Luis Manzano hopes that he is a good addition to the second season of “The Voice of the Philippines.”
He was not part of the talent search show’s first season, but he hosted "The Voice Kids" with Alex Gonzaga.
“I hope so,” Luis replied when asked if he thinks he’s a good addition to the show. Although he believes that “The Voice Kids is completely a different demographic, e, iba ang atake natin [compared dito].”
He added that this season, the hosts and the coaches know better how they will handle the show, since they’ve all learned from the first two offerings of “The Voice.”
“Season one although was very, very successful, nangangapa pa rin ang lahat nyan for something as big as The Voice,” he said.
“From kung anong atake ng ating mga host up to anong atake ng ating mga coach, how to say certain things, pati ‘yong hinahanap nila at some degree medyo…hindi sa hindi nila alam, kumbaga with in season two, especially after The Voice Kids, they know what they want.”
Aside from “level up” hosts and coaches, another highlight of the show is the coaches’ power to steal one singer from the team.
Coaches Lea Salonga, Bamboo Manalac, Apl de Ap, and Sarah Geronimo will complete their teams with 14 members from the blind auditions. As the show progresses, coaches will select two members of his team to compete against each other.
As the coach chooses who will stay in the team, the other coaches can steal whoever the other coach doesn’t choose. In case more than one coach would like to steal the singer, the contestant will be the one to choose the coach.
“The Voice of the Philippines” season two will be hosted by Luis Manzano, Toni Gonzaga, Alex Gonzaga, and Robi Domingo. It’ll air on Sunday, 8:30 p.m. in ABS-CBN.
