MANILA, Philippines- After 12 years, Joel Torre was able to win another Gawad Urian award, and he doesn't want to stop at acting.
He bagged the Best Actor award at the 37th Gawad Urian awards for the film "On The Job."
"I've realized how hard it is to win Urian," he replied when asked about the significance of his acting award, in an interview Tuesday night. "Kasi ang last ko was 12 years ago. Kaya sinabi ko kanina I was very humbled, it was a very humbling experience. Iba na siguro ang pananaw mo kapag nagka-edad ka."
But after winning the acting award, Torre plans to take a break from acting after the series of projects her worked in on the previous year. He did four films namely "On The Job," Juana C. The Movie," " The Diplomat Hotel," and "Kabisera."
He also did two TV series for the Kapamilya network which are "Juan dela Cruz," and "Honesto", which concluded a few months ago.
Torre said he would like to try directing a film.
"I want to direct someday, pero wag muna ngayon," he said. "I want to work on something about [the effect] of a dysfunction of a family sa society, and the recovery from the dysfunction. It's a drug (themed) movie (saying) that there is hope."
