Saab Magalona involved in mauling incident

MANILA, Philippines – Actress-blogger Saab Magalona confirmed that she was involved in a mauling incident at a concert in Pasig City on Saturday.

According to a report on GMA-7's news program “24 Oras” on Tuesday, the daughter of the late rapper Francis Magalona was beaten up by a drunk man at a party organized by musician Ely Buendia at Capitol Commons in Pasig City.

“I do not wish to downplay nor overplay the events that happened so I will only tell you this: yes, I was punched on the head several times by an intoxicated man,” she wrote on her blog Spell Saab.

Saab further wrote: “The unruly gatecrasher was part of a group of uninvited guests to an intimate and private birthday celebration. The celebrant and other guests were also attacked but fortunately a medical evaluation showed no major and permanent damage physically.”

“Despite the emotional trauma this has caused, I refuse to allow this incident to scar me. Instead, rest assured I will fight against violence — especially violence against women.”

Saab said she already filed a legal complaint against her assailant.

She also took to tweet to express her thoughts about the incident.

Saab, the sister of GMA-7 talents Maxene and Elmo Magalona, was recently engaged to musician Jim Bacarro.
