Tanauan City hosts paddling events

MANILA, Philippines - The lakeshore barangays of Wawa and Boot in Tanauan City, Batangas will once again come to life after having been chosen by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Olympics Committee (POC) as the venue for the paddling events of the 2014 Philippine National Games (PNG) slated today and tomorrow, May 18.

Organized by the Philippine Canoe and Kayak Federation (PCKF), 1,500 athletes from all over the country participate in the annual sporting event which features competitions in canoe, kayak and dragon boat.

Mayor Antonio Halili thanked the organizers of this year’s edition of the PNG as he sees the event as an opportunity to showcase and promote Tanauan City’s eco-tourism attractions.
