Solar News brings Greek heroes to life

MANILA, Philippines - Through cutting-edge technology, the stories of Jason and the Argonauts and The Odyssey come to life and looking through the surface of each story to unveil surprising facts.

Homer’s poems of the Bronze Age are enchanting people until now and every time people read it, it is not just action and adventure but mysteries about mythology, ancient Greece and gods are uncovered.

Jason assembles a crew to sail to the island of Colchis, in search of the magical Golden Fleece. He negotiates with women of Lemnos and the Sirens and when he has reached King Aeetes, he is asked to fulfill a series of impossible tasks in exchange for the fleece. He accepts the challenge and succeeds with the help of Aeetes’ daughter, Medea.

Jason’s journey is just one of the many explorations in the Black Sea but the essence of the story is not only the journey to self discovery but also learning about responsibility, danger, love and bravery.

After 10 years of the Trojan war, Odysseus sails to home and is seduced by the goddess Calypso and her promise of immortality. He then descends to the underworld where Hades offers him eternal life. The offers almost get the best of him but when he has reached the land of the Phaecians, he is offered a life of glory. Despite all the temptations of eternal life and glory, he gets home after 10 years to his wife Penelope.

It’s a story of a man’s journey through life and decided what is more important for him; home and family. Today, the theme echoes in our society in balancing success in life.
