Reigning Binibinis lead 2014 bets on the road to the crown

MANILA, Philippines - Forty gorgeous women aspire to represent the country, now ready and equipped for the upcoming Binibing Pilipinas 2014 pageant — but how exactly did they get to where they are today?

Find out tonight at 9:45 in Bb. Pilipinas 2014: The Road to the Crown as it is being aired on ABS-CBN’s Sunday’s Best. Witness this year’s candidates as they learn the ropes from those who have already successfully gone down that same path, the reigning queens.

The queens offer guiding hands for the candidates, holding workshops for them that feature the queens’ talents that they had acquired during their own road to the crown. Three different workshops were held — one for make-up, another for dance and another for the question-and-answer portion.

The make-up workshop was spearheaded by Miss Universe Philippines 2013 Ariella Arida. To test the contestants’ skills, she even posed to them the challenge of completing a daytime make-up look within 20 minutes, which they were asked to transform into a nighttime make-up look in 10 minutes.

Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2013 Joanna Cindy Miranda and Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Mutya Johanna Datul, on the other hand, presented the dance workshop, giving candidates the opportunity to let loose — but only the way beauty queens should do.

The question-and-answer workshop was held during a bus ride to the Montemar Beach Club in Bagac, Bataan. Bb. Pilipinas International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago led the activity, which started with a simple word game during the trip.

Bb. Pilipinas 2014: The Road to the Crown also features the candidates in national costumes, where they donned works from local designers.

The special will be hosted by Matteo Guidicelli, Ariella, Mutya, Cindy and Bea Rose.
