MANILA, Philippines - Eight respected Koi breeders in Japan will be among the judges of the 2014 Philippine National Koi Show (PNKS) on Feb. 22 and 23 at the Event Area 1, First Level, Building A, Tiendesitas in Pasig City.
Japanese breeders who are coming back to judge the PNKS are Masahito Kataoka of Oya Koi farm, Hisashi Hirasawa of Marudo Koi Farm, Hisato Nogami of Nogami Koi Farm and Mitsunori Isa of Isa Koi Farm. The show will also feature a series of firsts. This will be the first time that Taro Oya, head of Oya koi farm, to serve as judge. It will also be the first time Futoshi Mano and brother, Shigeru, of the acclaimed Dainichi Koi farm, to judge a koi show together outside Japan. RJ Seva, GMA Radio VP for Sales, joins the Japanese judges. Considered one of the masters in koi breeding, Toshio Sakai of the Isawa Nishikigoi Center will be the head-judge.
The Philippine National Koi Show is organized by Koi Hob in partnership with Eric Pond Filters, PLDT, Smart, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Sequence Pumps and in cooperation with the Koi Bois.
