MANILA, Philippines - The countdown to extinction has begun as PULP Live World and Colt 45 bring Megadeth to Manila on March 7 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
The band debuted with Killing Is My Business… and Business Is Good! in 1985 through Combat Records. It released its sophomore record, Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying? the following year through major label Capitol Records and was seen as one of the most highly-influential albums in the underground metal scene.
Megadeth stabilized its line-up with Dave Mustaine (vocals, guitars), David Ellefson (bass), Marty Friedman (lead guitar) and Nick Menza (drums) in 1990 and together released platinum award-winning records, Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia and Cryptic Writings.
Sixteen years later and with 13 full-length records behind them, Megadeth now stands stronger than ever with the release of Super Collider. Currently with Chris Broderick on lead guitar and Shawn Drover on drums, Megadeth delivered the 14th album, which was released on June 4, 2013 and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200; Megadeth’s highest chart position since Youthanasia (1994).
In the midst of a world tour promoting Super Collider, Ellefson updated the world through Phoenix New Times that Megadeth has definitely begun the process of creating new riffs and lyrics for the upcoming album.
