MANILA, Philippines - Alden Richards opted to celebrate his 22nd birthday away from the showbiz spotlight. Last Jan. 14, the Kapuso star was plain Kuya Alden as he treated the kids with an afternoon of fun and merriment at the Holy Trinity Home for Children in Quezon City.
“I came here not as an actor,†he says in an interview.
“Last year, I promised I would visit again the Holy Trinity Home for Children. Kaya ngayon tinutupad ko ang pangakong iyon para muling makasama ang mga bata, maghandog ng munting kasiyahan sa kanila at para maiparamdam na andito lang ang kanilang Kuya Alden,†he adds.
Alden says he’s just paying it forward what with the many blessings he has received.
“The Lord has blessed me so much. That’s why I wanted to celebrate my birthday this year in a more meaningful way. Masarap sa pakiramdam na makapaghatid ng mga ngiti sa mga bata kahit sa simpleng paraan gaya nito.â€
Generous brands like Belo, Kakao Talk, Skechers, Folded and Hung, Waffle Time, Minute Burger, Zagu and Tous Les Jours supported Alden’s effort in bringing smiles to the kids of Holy Trinity Home for Children.
Apart from his simple but meaningful birthday celebration, Alden is busy taping for his comeback project on primetime television as he acts opposite GMA Primetime Queen Marian Rivera in Carmela which will air beginning Jan. 27.
