MANILA, Philippines - Tonight, Born to be Wild’s vets visit areas in Zambales and Masbate inhabited by venomous snakes.
In Zambales, Doc Ferds Recio meets the indigenous people who spearhead the local ecotourism industry. Apart from the natural landscape and pristine beaches of Zambales, the place has also been called a center of “herpetofauna endemism,†housing a large number of reptiles including snakes. Doc Ferds gets to know these species better as he begins a snake survey with the local tribe.
Meanwhile, Doc Nielsen Donato goes to the Minalayo Seasnake Island in Masbate, which is inhabited by clumps of yellow-lipped sea kraits (walo-walo), believed to be one of the most venomous in the world.
