MANILA, Philippines - The action-drama 10,000 Hours was the biggest winner at the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) awards ceremony held Friday night at the Meralco Theater, picking up a total of 14 awards including Best Film, Best Actor for Robin Padilla and Best Director for Joyce Bernal.
10,000 Hours, loosely based on “true stories in the life of former Sen. Panfilo Lacson Jr.,†also walked away with the FPJ Memorial Award for Excellence, the Gat Puno Villegas Cultural Award, the Best Supporting Actor trophy for Pen Medina, as well as most of the technical honors.
The Best Actress trophy went to Maricel Soriano, who was a no-show, for her role in Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy, which was also named Second Best Picture and cited as Most Gender Sensitive Film.
My Little Bossings was awarded Third Best Picture, with its stars Ryzza Mae Dizon and Aiza Seguerra declared as Best Child Performer and Best Supporting Actress, respectively.
