Audio-visual experts conduct workshop

MANILA, Philippines - Filipinos are considered fierce competitors in the field of audio-visual but recognition has been quite scarce. Many of audio-visual production outfits overseas are acquiring Filipinos either by direct hiring or by jobbing it out to them.

Pixilate Digital Art (PDA) will conduct a workshop that will offer a healthier consideration of the technicalities of filmmaking, photography or anything related to audio-visual production. Attending the workshop is one way to learn more and be an expert in the field of audio-visual.

The workshop attendees will be tasked to create a three- to five-minute digital film utilizing a video camera or a DSLR camera.

Workshop starts on Aug. 31 with Ethelmer Policarpio conducting the workshop. Policarpio’s experience with television started in 1978 when he worked with Gil Balaguers Geebees TV Production that produced TV shows such as Germspesyal, Lasang Pinoy, Telebong Telebong Telebong and many others, and the production outfit also co-produced Anna Lisa. Policarpio later on worked with Argel Joseph’s production outfit as an in-house video editor and later graduated to directing news segments with Island TV-13 such as Open for Business hosted by Ding Tanjuatco, DOH’s Medical and Health News and Waldy Carbonell Reports and others.

Other lecturers are James Kevin, Sephie Dayag, Meyo de Jesus, Allan Avellana Jr. and Rudy Fontanilla. Rudy will conduct a workshop on basic and portrait photography and forensic photography.

PDA also offers workshops and courses on other peripherals in the field like animation, photoshop, after effects and other audio-visual applications which will be conducted by Prof. Roberto Borja.
