Anberlin brings the feel-good drag back to Manila at Bazooka Rocks!

MANILA, Philippines - More than two years after its first sold-out show here in Manila, Lee Jeans and San Miguel Flavored Beer   announce that American rock band Anberlin returns as part of Bazooka Rocks II, the second installment of the indoor and air-conditioned pop-punk festival that blew the minds of young pop-rock-punk fans last 2012. It will be held on Aug. 25, 7:30 p.m. at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Anberlin is a hard alternative rock band who had a sold-out show in Manila last March 9, 2011. It is currently touring in support of its latest album Vital, distributed locally by PULP Live Records. The band is best known for hits such as Impossible and Feel Good Drag as well as for being vocal about the members’ Christian beliefs. Its discography of full-length releases includes Blueprints for the Black Market (2003, has sold over 60,000 units in the US), Never Take Friendship Personal (2005, has reached the Billboard 200), Cities (2007, debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200), Lost Songs (2007), New Surrender (2008, debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200), Dark Is the Way Light Is the Place (2010) and its latest album Vital.

Feel Good Drag is the band’s highest-charting single, hitting the top spot of Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart. Anberlin is also regarded as one of the biggest breakthrough artists of early websites such as PureVolume and MySpace that revolutionized the way people acquired new music.

The band is composed of guitarists Joseph Milligan and Christian McAlhaney, bassist Deon Rexroat, drummer Nathan Young and lead vocalist Stephen Christian. Anberlin is  widely regarded as a major influence on younger breakthrough bands which share that Bazooka Rocks sound and vibe. It is also widely-respected for actively supporting cause-oriented groups such as Faceless International (which Christian himself founded) and To Write Love on Her Arms.

In Bazooka Rocks II, Anberlin will share the stage with seven other international bands — All Time Low, A Rocket To The Moon, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, We Came As Romans, Tonight Alive, Uchusentai: Noiz and Radiodriveby — plus four of the country’s most exciting young bands — Save Me Hollywood, Mad Hatter Day, Faintlight and Penguin — for 12 hours of rock and pure energy.

Bazooka Rocks Ii is co-presented by Lee Jeans and San Miguel Flavored Beer and is also made possible by Hyundai and the Department of Tourism (DOT). PULP Magazine, The Philippine Star and Monster Radio RX 93.1 are the media sponsors. Tickets to this exciting and fun event are available at all SM Tickets outlets nationwide and are priced at P3,000 (ticketing charges apply).
