MANILA, Philippines - Young JV (photo) is the newest ambassador of HERO Foundation.
HERO Foundation, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit organization that sends military orphans to school. It has been raising awareness and funds about the plight of children of soldiers who were killed while seeing action since 1988 when it was founded by former Pres. Cory Aquino in cooperation with then Defense Sec. Renato de Villa.
The scholarship comes in the form of stipends that are directly given to the families of the fallen soldiers to help them with the cost of books, uniform, meals, transportation, school supplies and sometimes, even tuition fees.
Also a son of a military man, Young JV fits his latest mission in life. He is the founder of Lahing Bayani Foundation that provides educational benefits/grants to the orphans of Filipino soldiers.
Watch him live on the following dates and venues: Today (3 p.m., Leon, Iloilo Celebrity Basketball); June 23 (12 noon to 3 p.m., ASAP Chill-Out); June 23 (4 p.m. at Younglings Luzon Anniversary), June 24 (9 p.m., Badiangan, Iloilo); June 28 (6:30 p.m., SM North EDSA); June 29 (Maja Unveils @ 10 concert in Palawan); and June 30 (Star Magic Sports Fest).
