Extreme Makeover Philippines cited at New York Festivals

MANILA, Philippines - The Kapatid network celebrated another milestone as its groundbreaking reality program Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (EMHE) Philippines was awarded with a finalist Certificate at the recently concluded 2013 New York Festivals. The TV5 program’s efforts to uplift the lives of deserving Filipino families were honored among submissions from more than 50 countries.

Receiving the award on behalf of the EMHE Philippines team was TV5 business unit head JoAnn Banaga (photo). Based on the Endemol TV hit, the show was cited under the Festivals’ Television-Regularly Scheduled Entertainment Program – Real Estate/Home Improvement category.

Perci Intalan, FVP for Creatives and Entertainment Production, said of the award, “The Kapatid network remains humbled of the New York Festivals’ recognition for EMHE Philippines as we continue to inspire audiences with our programs. We thank not just our cast, production team, and most importantly, the viewers and families who welcome us into their homes every week.”

EMHE Philippines aired its successful first season with host Paolo Bediones and a dedicated Design Team composed of interior designer and socialite-philanthropist Tessa Prieto-Valdez, fashion model Divine Lee, professional interior designer Tristan Jovellana with interior design consultants Marilen Faustino-Montenegro and Joby Belmonte.
