MANILA, Philippines - The Filinvest Tent, located in Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City, mounts its first Valentine dinner-show dubbed Love and Laughter, featuring Mitch Valdes and Route 70 Band on Feb. 15 at 8:15 p.m. Reminisce with friends and family to the sounds of love with the best of ’70s and ’80s music.
Love and Laughter will offer a blend of nostalgia music, retro pop and laughs. Mitch has had successful runs of musical comedy shows, as well as theater productions, including the original staging of the musical Katy. Mitch is the first Filipino act to have performed in Israel with her shows at Bethlehem’s Manger Square last December. She is also the chair and founding member of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mangaawit (OPM) that defends the rights of Filipino music artists.
Meanwhile, Route 70 Band will take guests on a trip down memory lane with its soulful renditions of ’70s and ’80s hits. The group is composed of musicians such as Butch Elizalde (lead guitarist, formerly of Music and Magic); Dingdong Eduque (vocalist, composer of Side A’s Hold On); Maso Diez-Rivera (vocalist, formerly of Hotdog); Rene Martinez (vocalist, back-up vocalist of ASAP); Ernie Baladjay (keyboardist, former keyboardist of APO Hiking Society); Bobby Taylo (bass, bassist for Sarah G. Live), Benzon Ang (drums, formerly of PowerPlay), Oscar Hernandez (trombone player, principal member of the San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra); and Raymond Agtarap (trumpet player, member of UST Symphony Band).
Route 70 Band has won the 2003 Awit Award for Best New Group and the 2010 Awit Award for Best Hotel, Lounge and Bar Act.
