During her Sampaguita days in the ‘50s and ‘60s, Lolita Rodriguez was not limited to drama which was her forte. She also appeared in action pictures, including Kapitan Lolita Limbas.
Supporting her in the 1961 action movie were Ric Rodrigo, Greg Martin, Eddie Garcia, Carlos Salazar, Lito Legaspi and Josephine Estrada. Her other action roles for Sampaguita were Diegong Tabak, Tarhata and Kilabot sa Makiling.
Lolita also shared the title roles with Dolphy in Jack en Jill where she dressed as a man, slugging it out with the guys and ‘taming’ the effeminate Dolphy. — RKC
