MANILA, Philippines - GMA 7 opens 2013 with the drama-fantasy series Indio.
The grand production features Bong Revilla Jr. as Malaya/Simeon/Indio. He marks his first primetime drama project via the network’s most expensive TV drama to date.
Bong shares, “I am grateful to GMA for giving me this project that I can offer to televiewers. We worked hard for this to give you another show that is worth-watching. Ang Indio ay isang pagbubunyi sa pagiging marangal ng bawat Pilipino, isang pagkilala sa mga magagandang katangian natin bilang isang lahi mula pa noon hanggang ngayon.â€
Though staged in pre-colonial setting, the value of Indio’s beautiful story traverses through generations, as its theme of earning dignity through selfless sacrifice for loved ones resonates strongly even for audiences of today.
In the series, the battle of goddess Ynaguiguinid against the colonizers continues as she also fights for the life of her son. Before Ynaguiguinid cast her last breath, she finally passed her supernatural powers to her son.
It also stars Jennylyn Mercado, Jackie Lou Blanco, Ramon Christopher, Michael de Mesa, Rhian Ramos, Sarah Lahbati, Sam Pinto, Rachelle Anne Go, Ehra Madrigal, Ellen Adarna, Paolo Paraiso, Will Devaughn, Steven Silva, Kyle Jimenez and Solenn Heussaff.
With the production team’s dedication to its craft together with the guidance of historians from the University of the Philippines Dr. Vic Villan and Dr. Rolando Borrinaga, production designer Rodel Cruz and musical scorer Von de Guzman, Indio is another primetime valuable offering.
