Gary V sings just for you

MANILA, Philippines - Gary Valenciano continues to inspire, entertain and move the lives of his fans as he closes the final quarter of 2012 with a series of exciting projects, as headlined by a brand-new full-length album under Universal Records titled Gary V Sings: Just For You.

It is Gary’s 26th studio album with Universal, preceded by the CD Replay — a collection of Gary’s previously recorded songs culled from his multi-platinum albums which were given a second chance in the mainstream because they were personal favorites of Gary that were never released as singles.

Gary V Sings Just For You is another creative and original concept by Gary which took six months to finish. “I was in the car and I told Kiana (my youngest child) to make ‘pa-simple’ in asking her mom, my wife Angeli, about the songs she once mentioned to me. These songs were just some of her favorites that she had always dreamed I would record,” says Gary.

“I wanted to make that year’s Christmas a special one for her by actually recording some of her choice cuts as a gift. And so I did. The concept was very different from all my other recordings as I only had one instrument accompanying me as I sang — the piano,” explains Gary. “Years went by and only Angeli has had a copy of those songs. From the very start, I wanted these songs recorded for only one person... and that was her.”

Gary V Sings: Just For You, according to Gary, “stems from a dream of a wife and from the heart of a husband, to an album that I hope many will enjoy and will find quite endearing.”

The CD contains 10 unforgettable tracks including Barry Manilow’s Somewhere Down The Road and As Sure As I’m Standing Here; Stephen Bishop’s It Might Be You; Judy Collins’ Send In The Clowns; Stevie Wonder’s Overjoyed; James Ingram’s Just Once; Kenny Rankin’s What Matters Most; Michael Jackson’s Someone In The Dark; Burton Cummings’ I Will Always Wait For You; and the CD’s carrier single, George Benson’s In Your Eyes which is available for download on iTunes and mymusicstore. 

On primetime TV, Gary recently finished his stint as one of the judge/mentors of ABS-CBN’s Philippine franchise of the top-rating reality talent search The X-Factor. In the show, Gary mentored the groups category and his group Daddy’s Home finished third in the competition. Another group A.K.A. JAM is featured in the song Overjoyed. Gary continues hosting ASAP 2012 with an inspirational segment titled With Love, Gary V where he features moving stories of hope and redemption while performing songs that effect positive change in the lives of the different people he features in the segment.

Gary’s successful concert series at Music Museum last summer, On Higher Ground, was a critically-acclaimed and pioneering musical event that utilized video-mapping, a technologically-advanced technique used by international artists. Gary is the very first Filipino solo artist to use video-mapping in a major concert event.

Gary also made a grand comeback on the silver screen via Unitel Pictures’ I Do Bidoo Bidoo — a musical-comedy directed by Chris Martinez based on the timeless hits of the APO Hiking Society. Yes! Magazine announced that Gary is the most influential netizen (most influential artist on social media) in the music industry because of the thousands of people he engages via his official Twitter account @GaryValenciano1.

Gary also launched an online free application for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and other smartphones called Gary V. The app keeps his fans updated with his schedules, concerts and public appearances.
