MANILA, Philippines - Rumor has it that Fox Channel executives are contemplating to cut some scenes off the latest season of the much-followed The Walking Dead due to its high-violence content. With this, fans are assured no such thing is going to happen. The Walking Dead now airs on FOX Saturdays at 8:55 p.m.
“We’re not taking anything out. The Walking Dead has become the highest rated cable show because it provides viewers the necessary rawness that zombie violence requires. We’ll not shortchange the craving of the fans,” said Jude Turcuato, VP and Territory head of Fox International.
Filipino media were recently treated to a stylish special pilot episode screening of the series now dubbed as the “No.1 Show in the US.” The event, featuring a spooky dinner treat complete with zombie staff and sumptuous meal with a tomb-shaped dessert, was held at the posh spot Enderun in McKinley Hill.
The Walking Dead Season 3 is fast-engulfing its growing cult following due to its more pronounced intrigues, drama and of course, bloody, violent scenes. It stars, among others, Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden and Steve Yeun.
“It’s a global phenomenon. I’m amazed how that many people got enticed with seeing zombie gore and rooting for characters fighting for their survival through courageous and equally desperate acts of violence,” added Turcuato.
