MANILA, Philippines - In line with Quezon City’s drive to be the most culturally vibrant urban center in the country, the Office of the Vice Mayor led by Joy Belmonte will stage the second Danz for Joy competition, with the theme Hip-Hop Sayawan Para sa Kalikasan, from Nov. 22 to Dec. 7. Open to Quezon City-based dance groups with members aged 13 and above, the contest is also part of the city’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.
The world hip-hop dance champions Philippine All-Stars will grace the qualifiers and grand finals as judges. Arvin Jimenez, also known as the comedian Tado, will host the competition.
A qualifying round per district will be held, with the respective winners advancing to the final round on Dec. 7. Here’s the complete schedule of eliminations: District 1 (Nov. 22), District 2 (Nov. 23), District 3 (Nov. 24), District 4 (Nov. 29), District 5 (Nov. 30) and District 6 (Dec. 1). The grand finals will be on Dec 7.
