Village People concert Nov. 17

MANILA, Philippines - What do you get when you unite six icons, disco music and popular dance moves? Picture a police officer, construction worker, biker, Native American, soldier and cowboy on stage. What pops into your mind? Certainly, it can only be The Village People (photo).

Emerging as the first group of its kind in 1977, The Village People has gone on an extensive musical journey. It all started with Jacques Morali and partner Henri Belolo’s idea to form a group composed of different characters. With more than 35 years in the industry, The Village People, as accomplished musicians, had gone through a lot, from receiving music awards around the globe to starring in their own movie titled Can’t Stop the Music. The group has graced the covers of multiple magazines, guested on talk shows, lost a member to cancer and even broken a Guinness World Record during one of the YMCA performances.

So Manila, are you ready to get your groove on as The Kings of Disco perform hits such as YMCA, In the Navy and Macho Man?

Red Stone Media Productions brings in the disco group at the SMX Convention Center on Nov. 17. Party starts at 8:30 p.m. Media Partners are The Philippine STAR, Business World, Business Mirror, Mellow 94.7, Monster Radio RX 93.1, Barangay LS 97.1, 101.1 YES FM, Pinas FM 95.5 and Barangay LS 97.1.
