Belo is guest speaker at IIA-P

MANILA, Philippines - Dr. Vicki Belo will be one of the guests of honor in this year’s conference of the Institute of Internal Auditors-Philippines (IIA-P). It was announced by IIA-P president Juancho Robles.

The Institute of Internal Auditors - Philippines is the acknowledged leader and principal educator of internal audit professionals in the country with more than 1,200 members. Internationally, IIA has over 170,000 members in more than 80 countries.

Belo will deliver a talk on how to enhance and effectively harness image to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of a company’s operation. The 65th annual conference will be held in Boracay from Oct. 23 to 25 with Robles overseeing the affair.

Belo’s talk, Perception vs Reality, will encompass the following: Understanding the cause of image problem; how to better align perception with reality; turning stakeholders into true believers of services you provide; knowing the creative approaches that can be used to get heard; and learning strategies to get the message across stakeholders.

IIA-P couldn’t have gotten a better expert on the subject than the Belo Medical Group president, who is also an internationally renowned speaker. Belo challenged the status quo, and moved the aesthetic beauty industry to its current highly-regarded state with her innovative leadership skills. Her talk is one of the most awaited in this conference.

Primarily a leadership conference, Robles has also gotten other authorities to give speeches about specific concerns that fall under their respective fields. These are Paul Sabel, VP for Professional Development, IIA, Inc.; Jayr Batiles, B3 manager, Group Internal Audit, Procter & Gamble; Mike Evans, managing director, CCH Teammate-Asia Pacific; Joy Pinarac-Alcala, associate director, Group Internal Audit, Procter & Gamble; Darwin Mariano, director for public affairs and communications, SANOFI Phils.; Third Librea, director, Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA); Teresa Pacis, AVP and head of corporate communications, GMA Network; and Jovy Peregrino, former director of UP Sentro ng Wikang Filipino and former head of National Committee for Languages and Translation.

Also joining the conference as speakers are Jane Rosales, former president, IIA-P; Bonifacio Sam, president, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE); Peter Wiley, former president of IIA-Australia; Lilian Linsangan, former president, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE); and Cathy Hufanna-Ang, VP of External Affairs, IIA-P.

Robles said that the three-day seminar will not only be about experiential learning and soft skill development but also about fun camaraderie and networking “to sustain our journey and build our relationships,” he says.
