For Aga, home is where...

Aga Muhlach with wife Charlene Gonzalez and their twins Atasha and Andres: Well into the swim of things

Because his current TV5 show Pinoy Explorer has been keeping him away from home more often than he used to, bringing him to various places not only locally but also abroad, Aga Muhlach sees to it that he spends quality time with his family, wife Charlene Gonzalez and twins Atasha and Andres, every chance he gets.

But thanks to the magical invention called cellphone, Aga stays connected with his family anywhere he is and especially when the campaign for the 2013 mid-term elections will bring him to the nook and cranny of the fourth district of Camarines Sur where he’s running for Congressman.

That’s why he can’t go out without his Sun Cellular.

“My constant companion,” said Aga. “It keeps me posted on what’s going on at home when I’m out working.”

Last year, Aga was named one of the Ulirang Ama awardees by the National Mother’s Day and Father’s Foundation, Inc., the group that recognizes model parents who exemplify integrity and high moral principles in raising and nurturing their children.

“The award has challenged Charlene and me to be even better parents,” conceded Aga. “Our twins are responsible and self-reliant, thanks to the values that we instill in them especially now that they are young.”

Ian Somerhalder all praises for El Nido

Now it can be told: Immediately after he set foot at El Nido in Palawan for his pictorial as Penshoppe endorser, The Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder posted this entry on his Twitter: Reporting live from some beautiful island in the Philippines where it’s, on my time schedule, impossible to sleep past 5AM. SO beautiful here.

It was the greenness of the province that won the heart of Ian whose advocacy includes the protection and preservation of the environment. His own Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF), launched in 2010, has forged a partnership with El Nido Resorts Lagen Island (where Ian was billeted) in pursuing this advocacy.

“It was an honor to have Mr. Somerhalder and his team at Lagen Island, knowing that he himself is an environmentalist,” said Bambi Samson, the resort’s sales and marketing manager. “Aside from the pictorial, he engaged in our regular activities such as island-hopping, lunch at the beach club, tour of the Big Lagoon and snorkeling at Miniloc’s house reef. He even attended our G.R.E.E.N. (Guard, Respect, Educate El Nido).”

Adam wants to sing with Jessica

What do Jessica Sanchez and Adam Lambert have in common (besides being good singers, that is)?

Well, as you know, they both finished runner-up in the American Idol, Jessica to Phillip Phillips and Adam to Kris Allen.

What if Jessica and Adam do a duet? It would be a hit, for sure!

Asked about that possibility, Adam said in the latest issue of People magazine (that asked him if he has been watching AI since his stint on the show), “I watched this season. It would be fun to collaborate with Jessica. She sings her face off.”

Described by People mag as “the first openly gay artist to debut an album at No. 1” (his new album is called Trespassing), Adam said, “I didn’t realize it was a milestone that hadn’t been met before! I’m humbled.”

Adam performed in a concert here two years ago.

Eugene will see dream come true

In a Funfare interview last week, director Chris Martinez said that his bosom friend and former roommate Eugene Domingo’s dream this year is to be named Miss Box Office Actress. That dream is coming true with the success of their latest collaboration, Star Cinema/Spring Films’ Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kyeme, which is drawing record crowds in more than 100 theaters nationwide. Bb. Joyce Bernal is again the director.
