MANILA, Philippines - Released last month, DK Valdez’s (photo) It’s All About Love album has been on top of the chart at Astrovision and Astroplus nationwide.
Sales record shows it topped the chart from April 2 to 8, and landed No. 2 from April 30 to May 6, surpassing the album sales of Angeline Quinto, Lea Salonga, David Archuleta, Basil Valdez, Christian Bautista and Bamboo.
The critics and the public alike compare DK’s voice quality to that of Basil because of its powerful and confident timbre. Some even go as far as thinking the young DK as the son of the older Valdez.
His rendition of the album’s carrier single, Tatanggapin Pa Ba Kita, is filled with emotion and echoes DK’s sentiments over a lost love.
According to DK, he is inspired to compose the song dedicated to a former girlfriend who left him for another man while he was working in Thailand.
“I couldn’t help but shed tears while composing the song because it reminds me of how she tried to win me back after what she did to me,” DK relates.
