Manila, Philippines - Three of the world’s toughest truck drivers and their teams tackle the roads of the majestic Andes Mountains in South America in IRT Deadliest Roads: Andes, an all-new season of the hit series airing Thursday nights at 10.
Witness these North American truckers prove that they have what it takes to haul any load over any road as both veterans and rookie drivers alike battle the thick Amazon jungles, landslides, and cliff side routes, where any wrong turn and mistake can be fatal.
The journey kicked off last May 10 with the debut episode Death Road, where the truckers got an immediate taste of the dangerous challenges that lie ahead, with roads already forcing even the most seasoned drivers to second-guess their decisions.
In Rise of the Rookies on May 17, Dave Redmon and Lisa Kelly, in their malfunctioning trucks, race against time to make sure they can still deliver their load promptly.
Hugh Rowland and Rick Yemm struggle to reach their destination intact, as they deal with the international language barrier and attempt to conquer the muddy roads. Rookies Tim Zickuhr and Tino Rodriguez struggle with their lack of experience as they navigate the deadly cliffside roads. And at the end of the day, two truckers, pushed to their limits, call it quits.
Airing May 24, Lisa vs. The Devil’s Bridge shows Hugh and Lisa taking on the Death Road without spotters, with Lisa heading to the Southern Death Road, where she faces her biggest challenge yet — alone. Meanwhile, rookie tandem Tim and Tino zigzag through treacherous cliffs, as well as tight fits in town, where navigating around cars and buildings may prove as fatal as dodging landslides, all to deliver their load to a community in need.
Finally, The Replacement Trucker on May 31 reveals Lisa’s new partner, Texan long-hauler G.W. Boles; while Hugh, still trucking solo, does his best not to play demolition derby in a local market with his giant truck. Newbie Tim gets his first attempt to conquer the Death Road with his spotter Tino, both struggling to keep their oversized load from falling off the truck; or worse, pulling every single one of them off the cliff.
