How well do you know Ricky Reyes?

MANILA, Philippines - How well do you know Ricky Reyes (photo, with children of Child Haus) aside from being a beauty icon, beauty architect and salon czar?

From humble beginnings Ricky rose to fame and built an empire that includes 40 Gandang Ricky Reyes Salons, the Ricky Reyes Learning Institute and Golden Sunset Resort and Spa. “All these were fruits of hard work, perseverance and patience,” says Reyes.

He never begged until he put up the Ricky Reyes Foundation that helps inmates of various homes for the aged, orphaned street children, out-of-school youth-turned-criminals and taken in for custody by the DSWD and the indigent children afflicted with cancer and other serious illnesses who stay in a temporary shelter called ChildHaus in Project 8, Quezon City while they undergo treatments. “For the sick, the needy and the helpless individuals, I learned how to ask friends and other kindhearted people for donations in cash or in kind. Now, I take pride with my new tag — professional beggar,”

As Ricky notched another birthday, he, JM de Guzman, Jinky Pacquiao, Tates Gana-Bautista and some friends threw a party at the Child Haus where the kids were given a sumptuous lunch, entertainment and gifts.

Unknown to the celebrator, his staff surprised him with a dinner-party at the FVR Park of Fort Bonifacio graced by former president Fidel Ramos, Metro Manila mayors and espouses, beauty queens Lorraine Schuck and Evangeline Pascual, GMA 7’s Darling de Jesus and Gigi Santiago, Gandang RR endorser Chiqui Hollmann-Yulo, Mama Ada Reyes and immediate members of the Reyes clan.

Watch Life & Style with Gandang Ricky Reyes tomorrow at 10 a.m. on GMA News TV for a blow-by-blow account of Ricky’s birthday happenings.
