MANILA, Philippines - The idea of turning a well-known historical figure into an axe-swinging vigilante vampire hunter is something that can work well today especially when revisionist stories of well-known literary and historical figures seem to have a growing audience in a young generation of moviegoers.
Abraham Lincoln, the fashion-forward US President, is the next to get such treatment in the upcoming film based off the novel of the same name “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.” The idea is that Lincoln is out to eradicate the vampire community after finding out that his mother and his grandfather were killed in one way or another by these creatures of the night.
Benjamin Walker, who plays Lincoln in the film, recently sat down with Rufus Sewell, the lead vampire villain, and director Timur Bekmambetov to answer questions sent-in from select members of the international media and talk about the film. Joining them is the film’s Executive Producer and author Seth Grahame-Smith.
