MANILA, Philippines - From executive producer Steven Spielberg, comes Terra Nova, a sci-fi family-adventure drama premiering first and exclusively on Jack TV tonight at 7. It’s the year 2149 and the world is dying due to overdevelopment and overcrowding. With the majority of plant and animal life extinct, mankind realizes that its only opportunity for survival is a trip to the distant past.
The series centers on the Shannon family who find themselves in a world with no hope. But when scientists discover a fracture in time, the idea of creating a portal back to the age of the dinosaurs seems like man’s only chance of continued existence. Joining the pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the Shannon family looks forward in anticipation to a new life and renewed hope.
Guiding his family through this new world of limitless beauty, mystery and terror is Jim Shannon (Jason O’Mara), a devoted father with a checkered past. His wife, Elisabeth Shannon (Shelley Conn), is a trauma surgeon and the newest addition to Terra Nova’s medical team.
Rounding out the family is 17-year-old son Josh (Landon Liboiron), 15-year-old daughter Maddy (Naomi Scott) and youngest daughter Zoe (Alana Mansour). Although Elisabeth’s medical training secured the Shannon a precious spot on the pilgrimage, a secret about their family soon endangers their place in this new utopia.
Along with blue skies, towering waterfalls and lush vegetation, the terrain of Terra Nova is teeming with danger — and not just of the man-eating dinosaur variety. As time goes by, it will become clear that not everyone on this mission has the same idea of how to best save mankind; in fact, there may be forces intent on destroying this new world before it even begins.
