HRCC Icons 2011 at SMDC Grand Showroom

MANILA, Philippines - The SM Development Corp.’s (SMDC) Grand Showroom roared with cheers and applause as 2,500 young professionals from the country’s top contact centers and business process outsourcing (BPO) companies recently gathered for the HRCC Icons 2011. Organized by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines and the Human Resource Contact Centers, the event served as a fun-filled occasion to foster camaraderie within the call center industry.

Talented individuals from participating companies, including Convergys, Accenture, Aegis, PeopleSupport, StarTek, 24/7 Customer Philippines, Teleperformance, Sykes, JP Morgan and Chase, Stream Global and this year’s organizer, Peoplesparx, Inc., displayed their vocal talent and dance moves during the event. By the end of the night, Ryan Asa Domagas of Sutherland Global Services was awarded the top prize in the Voices Competition, while the group from StarTek call center won in the Moves category. The HRCC Icons 2011 also formed part of BPAP’s Batang Pilipino ang Pag-asa Program, and raised funds for the benefit of The Children’s Hour.

The SMDC Grand Showroom is touted as the largest residential showroom in the Philippines today. Aside from being a one-stop shop for interested buyers to tour all of SMDC’s condominium projects, the showroom can also be customized to cater to the technical and design requirements of any event of any size. Covering almost 8,000 sq.m. in the Mall of Asia Complex, it makes for an ideal venue for industry conferences, product launches, trade exhibits, academic conventions and entertainment performances. It boasts of an impressive range of facilities, including an amphitheater, a spacious lounge and an entertainment deck. The first of its kind in the country, the SMDC Grand Showroom features eight model units from the company’s condominium projects. The innovative showroom was designed by architect Albert Yu of Asya Design, who also planned SMDC’s residential projects. All model units were designed by Monica Sarmiento of M Concepts. It is open to the public every Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
