MANILA, Philippines - TV ventriloquist, comedian and party host Wanlu takes part in the ongoing ASEAN Puppetry Festival at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With his participation in the fest, Wanlu feels that all his hard work in promoting ventriloquism and puppetry in the country is paying off.
The festival gathers the best puppeteers in the ASEAN region.
Wanlu is with Nicolo and Baby Bryan to the festival.
Nicolo is one of the most popular characters in Philippine ventriloquism while Baby Bryan is something Wanlu can be proud of as he is locally made.
He says, “While I have no doubt that Nicolo will spark a lot of discussions in the festival, I am hoping that Baby Bryan will spark some interest in puppets made in the Philippines.”
The invitation to attend the festival, according to Wanlu, was sent through Danny Liwanag, head of Roppets Puppet Troupe.
The group is serious in promoting puppetry in the ASEAN region. The Philippines exports world-class puppets and puppetry supplies to Asia, Europe and the USA.
