MANILA, Philippines - Jay-R and 2010 Binibining Pilipinas-International, Krista Kleiner left their former management group months ago and found their way to STAGES, which handles the careers of Christian Bautista, Karylle, Sam Concepcion, Enrique Gil and Zia Quizon, among others. Jay-R and Krista were formally introduced in a press conference held last month.
Before deciding to go with the Carlo Orosa-led management team, the couple met with two other managers.
“Aside from being a respectable company, I believe that STAGES has this vision for me and my music,” says Jay-R when asked why he chose to partner with STAGES in this new chapter in his career. “With their experience as a management company, I believe they are knowledgeable enough to market me as a singer, and my music, not only in the country, but in other countries as well.”
STAGES is known for making a big singing superstar out of Christian in the region, especially Indonesia. He, along with fellow STAGES talent Karylle, is also part of The Kitchen Musical.
Jay-R is a recording artist of Universal Records, which released the hit albums Soul In Love, JayR Sings OPM Love Classics, Game Face, among others.
Soon, Jay-R will embark on a promo tour in Malaysia, where he will promote his album that includes a Bahasa song. He can be seen weekly on GMA 7’s Party Pilipinas and Protégé.
“Unknown to many, Jay-R is a musical genius,” says Carlo. “And, we want people to know how great he is an artist. He is one of the very few people in the industry who can do their own music, like Ogie Alcasid and Gary Valenciano.”
Jay-R holds a special place in STAGES’ history because its first musical Footloose was topbilled by the Prince of R&B himself.
On the other hand, Krista first worked with the company when she guested on Christian’s Valentine show early this year.
“I have always admired Krista as a performer,” says Carlo. “She can sing, dance, act, host, and she is a beauty queen.”
Krista is set to release her new album, produced by no less than her real-life sweetheart and fellow STAGES talent Jay-R.
“I expect STAGES to help further and develop my career,” declares Krista. “Their (STAGES’) trust, understanding, support and guidance will help me become a better artist, and will give me opportunities to show it.”
