Isabelle Daza is one of the busy belles of showbiz. She does comedy on GMA 7’s Bubble Gang Friday nights and co-hosts Manny Many Prizes and Party Pilipinas Saturdays and Sundays, respectively.
On top of that are endorsements such as Sophie Paris Philippines whose sole choice to endorse its bag line is Isabelle. If her looks from frame to frame indicates anything, it’s the fact that Isabelle is handling showbiz work with aplomb and in style.
“I’m doing a lot of things throughout the week,” describes Isabelle of her schedule. “I have shoots, I have (TV) guestings and I have rehearsals.”
According to Isabelle, being part of Manny Many Prizes is a “learning experience” because the show has given our kababayan capital to start up their own businesses. It was the same reason why Isabelle accepted to be the face of Sophie Paris in the Philippines.
“It is close to my heart because Sophie is not only a company which sells bags,” says Isabelle. “It helps a lot of people. It is a company I’m proud to be part of.” Sophie Paris provides women business and job opportunities by selling clothes, bags, accessories, personal care and beauty products. Since its launch in 2002 here, Sophie Paris has empowered many Pinays to become independent.
And Isabelle is one of them.
“I’m living on my own,” she says. “Most of Filipinos are very close to their families. So, kapag umaalis sa bahay, medyo nagtatampo ang parents. I think it is part of growing up. My place is near (my mom’s). They say living alone and doing things on your own is part of growing up. I’m learning to pay the bills. I think that’s the hardest thing. I’m taking care of my finances. I’m budgeting and doing groceries.”
Although Isabelle might be on top of everything in her personal life, she still consults mom Gloria Diaz in matters that concern her showbiz career.
“My mom always wants to know what my projects are,” she shares. “With showbiz, she’s very hands-on. She is like, ‘Do that. That’s very good.’ My mom is very hands-on when it comes to my career although she makes me decide also on what I would like to do and what I’d feel comfortable in. She’s very happy with me hosting.”
Hosting is where Isabelle is more comfortable with.
“It’s more of my personality,” she says. “It doesn’t require me to be somebody else. It’s really myself.”
Below, Isabelle gives you a rundown of what she does on and off cam:
Working Days — If I have work for Party Pilipinas, I’m at GMA by 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. I stay until 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. For Manny Many Prizes, they want us to be there at 11 a.m. (and we stay) until 8 to 9 p.m. For Bubble Gang, I should be on the set at 7 a.m. and the work ends at 12 midnight. I work at irregular hours which I like.
I don’t have a particular diet. I just like eating cereals, tapa and rice… I don’t have a particular diet because I need energy. So, I just eat what’s available — kahit ano-ano na lang ang kinakain ko. Sometimes I eat pizza during a shoot. One day, Rhian brought tuyo made by her mom. We finished it with Ogie (Alcasid) and Bitoy (Michael V).
Me Day — When I’m free, I also have a lot of things to do such as maintenance and errands. I also keep on improving myself. I try to do workshops. I get my hair treatment and I get my nails done.
I work out a lot. I try to do different exercises. I do that in the morning and sometimes at night to end my (day) na pagod na ako. I wake up the next day refreshed.
I go out with my friends. We like to try different things in different restaurants. I love eating. You know in my dad’s side, they are all chefs — the Dazas. My dad taught me how to eat well and choose good food. I like to do that. It’s one of my hobbies.
