A paradise for pearl shoppers

MANILA, Philippines - The Moro pearl shops in Greenhills Shopping Complex (GSC) in San Juan City have become a paradise for pearl shoppers, locals and foreigners alike.

The price of pearls can start from P50 to P500,000 — rangewide enough to choose from. Generally, pearls in Greenhills are cheaper than Hong Kong, that’s why there’s a lot of foreigners milling around like Koreans, Australians, Americans, Europeans, Middle Eastern and Asians.

Any shopper with just a few hundred pesos is just as welcome as a doña from the Forbes or the Queen of Spain (who is said to have come to Greenhills to buy pearls incognito). Elisa Gera, president of Acca Kapp, a luxury niche Italian fragrance and body care brand that has stores and outlets all over the world, proudly wears a strand of pearls on her neck. The pearls are from Greenhills.

Pearls and jewelry lovers are expected to be among bargain hunters and shoppers to crowd the 18th Telecommunication & Accessories bazaar to be held back-to-back with the seventh Philippine Crafts & Fair from June 17 to July 11.

Shoppers can also find antiques, paintings and other artworks. The exhibit is also for the vintage furniture lovers, home decors as well as garden enthusiasts. It also has a wide array of clothes and footwear, whether export or imported from Bangkok or Hong Kong, as well as dining and entertainment options in this one-stop shopping destination.
