MANILA, Philippines - Filipinos in Hawaii experienced a spectacular Kapuso celebration this summer after GMA Network’s international channels, GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV, participated at the recently concluded FilCom Center 19th Annual Filipino Fiesta.
For the Hawaii festivity, GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV tapped award-winning Kapuso primetime stars Iza Calzado, female lead star of I Heart You Pare and new weekend sitcom Andres de Saya, and Dennis Trillo, Party Pilipinas mainstay.
Dubbed as Ang Pilipino… Noon at Ngayon (The Filipino…Then and Now), this year’s Filipino Fiesta included the parade held from Fort DeRussy to Kapiolani Park in Waikiki where Dennis and Iza, on board a convertible car, were warmly greeted by Filipinos who stormed the event despite the rains. The parade was followed by the fiesta celebration at the Kapiolani Park.
More so, the viewers were delighted to receive treats and various Kapuso freebies when they visited the booth of GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV.
“The Filipino Fiesta is a much-awaited yearly extravaganza that reminds everyone about the successes of the Filipino Community in Hawaii. The Consulate General is a proud supporter of this event,” says Leoncio Cardenas, Consul General of the Philippines to Hawaii.
And just last month, GMA Pinoy TV also supported the special presentation of the Philippine’s longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga!, at the Queen Elizabeth Theater in Vancouver, Canada, which reportedly drew a record crowd of more than 3,000 Filipinos.
Led by the triumvirate of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon — together with EB Dabarkads Jimmy Santos, Ruby Rodriguez, Anjo Yllana, Michael V., Allan K., Pia Guanio, Pauleen Luna, Julia Clarete, Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo, Paolo Ballesteros, and the EB Babes – Eat Bulaga! Invades Vancouver delivered a night full of entertainment.
