Segunda-mano queen in Hanep Buhay

MANILA, Philippines - As GMA 7’s Hanep Buhay welcomes Love Añover’s new bundle of joy, Chris Tiu will also welcome a hanep roster of guest hosts that will join the Hanep Team in giving life-changing makeovers to deserving entre-Pinoys.

Tomorrow at 7 a.m., Bea Binene will get some useful business tips and retail know-how from Manila’s Segunda-mano queen, Aling Puring Dy. For quality second-hand items, Puring is the name to look for in Manila. The 78-year-old has years of experience and trustworthy clients where she gets all her quality second-hand items.

Puring started her business way back in the ’70s with only P500 as capital. She went door-to-door in executive villages in Makati to collect unique items to resell.  Now it’s her turn to share her knowledge to fellow reseller Leticia Lagman.  Not only will Puring give out some Hanep tips, she’ll also be receiving a big surprise from Bea and the Hanep Team — brand new paint to liven up her display shelves, additional racks and new ready-to-sell items to charge up her segunda-mano business.

The show also shares the success story of Ever Bilena which started with an empty bottle of nail polish. From there, Dioceldo Sy created his make-up empire.  Dioceldo’s uncle used to sell empty bottles of nail polish or basyos around Quiapo and Baclaran. Dioceldo followed his uncle’s lead but took this humble business to the next level. And then Hortaleza supported Dioceldo’s endeavor and took his items for consignment.

Ever Bilena carries not just nail polish but an array of beauty products such as lipstick, make-up, lotion and concealers. The brand has 25,000 direct sellers and is being imported to Macau, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
