MANILA, Philippines - GMA 7’s Hanep Buhay continues to find inspiring entre-Pinoys who need a little help in turning their dreams into reality.
The program hosted by Chris Tiu and Love Añover proves that there are many of them out there. These are Pinoys who are creative, hardworking and have poured their time and energy to a small business venture in hopes of providing a better life for their loved ones. A couple who stayed by each other’s side and never let disability stop them from putting up their own sari-sari store, a 56-year-old widow who bravely faces the new challenges in the Internet shop business after her husband passed away, and an on-call laundry woman who has provided for her family for a decade and now needs to work harder to put her five kids to school are some of them.
The program’s Hanep team finds these people with inspiring stories to tell and gives them a nice surprise — a makeover that will help their business. For Chris, one of the most memorable business makeovers in the shows so far is the makeover for Saylo Salon.
“When we met Josh Saylo, owner of Saylo Salon, he was about to transfer his business to a new location because sales was declining,” Chris recalls.
“Hanep Buhay Team helped Josh re-establish his salon business in the new location. With the help our sponsors, we provided him with new tools, supplies, and equipment. We also assisted him from the construction of his new salon to the interior design. We also provided him and his staff free training and business tips.”
Two months after the business makeover, Josh has a great story to tell. “Josh revealed to us that his sales tripled due to the increase in number of customers,” Chris says. “But this immediate success of Josh cannot be solely attributed to the bigayan of the Hanep Buhay Team. It is also his openness to learn as well as his determination to succeed that helped him triple his sales. He wholeheartedly applied the tips given to him by our business experts and this in turn allowed him to open a second branch nearby.”
Josh, with the help of Hanep Buhay, was also able to pay it forward by extending his hand to a fellow salon owner who needed business guidance.
Hanep Buhay airs every Saturday at 7 a.m.
