MANILA, Philippines - One of the most sought-after new faces in showbiz is now a Kapatid. Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Anne Curtis’ 16-year-old younger sister, signed a three-year contract with TV5. Jasmine is touted to be TV5’s face of 2011 as she teams up with JC de Vera for a major project.
While other networks also sent feelers to get Jasmine as contract star, she opted to become a Kapatid. “I’m happy to have finally settled here in TV5. The management gives me the best of both worlds: My studies and career. I can balance it out. They care about my career as well as my education,” said Jasmine in an interview after she signed up with TV5.
Although the Fil-Aussie teen star finally gave the nod to her showbiz calling, Jasmine still wants to prioritize her education, which the TV5 management supports. “We want only the best for Jasmine. Even at a young age she’s mature enough to set her priorities. Her growing fanbase looks up to her because her beauty and wit merit their admiration,” said Perci Intalan, TV5 head of Creative and Entertainment Production.
Present in the contract signing were Jasmine’s manager Betchay Vidanes and co-manager for endorsements Pia Campos, along with TV5 executives lawyer Ray Espinosa, president and CEO; Roberto Barreiro, EVP and COO; lawyer Christine Ona, Legal Department head and Perci.
The Happy Network is brewing a grand acting debut for Jasmine with JC in the TV remake of ’90s hit action film Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum which was topbilled by Robin Padilla and Vina Morales. Some scenes of the series will be shot in Australia, where Jasmine is studying. Exciting projects are now also in the works for the younger Curtis on TV5.
Having made waves when she first appeared on PO5 last Dec 19, TV5 welcomes the new year with its newest face as Jasmine dances on the stage of weekend top-rater Talentadong Pinoy on Jan. 1, 2011.
