Aureo Alonzo at his best

Then and now, legendary couturier Aureo Alonzo is without equal when it comes to bead and embroidery work on gowns and ternos. These three creations, modeled by Premiere stars Lani Oteyza and Shirley Gorospe are fine examples. The designer at his best.

On the cover of the June 1, 1960 issue of Song-Movie, Lani is a radiant bride in a gown adorned with delicate floral embroidery. In the same issue of Song-Movie, Shirley is the image of sophistication in a gown called ‘Peacock,’ intricate bead work approximating the bird in all its resplendent glory.

Earlier in 1959, Lani modeled a beaded and ruffled terno at a fashion show held at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, participated in by other top couturiers, including Ramon Valera, Pitoy Moreno and Ben Farrales. RKC
