Another feather in Bieber's cap

MANILA, Philippines - During a successful promo visit to Japan last Oct. 12, Justin Bieber (photo) was presented with various awards from Universal Music Indonesia, China, Malaysia and the Philippines for achieving sales of 280,000 (digital combined) in Southeast Asian region. In the Philippines alone, Bieber triumphantly stormed the airwaves, raved digital avenues, smashed music store records nationwide as he has sold more than 30,000 units from the physical and digital sales of his albums My World, My World 2.0 and My Worlds.

The teen superstar is the youngest male solo artist with a No. 1 album not only on the US Billboard Top 200 but in all music and video Top 10 charts across the Philippines. His albums’ back-to-back No. 1 hits are Baby, One Time, One Less Lonely Girl, Somebody to Love and others.

Since the time mobile ringback tones were introduced to the Philippine digital scene, Bieber’s Baby has been the longest-running, top-selling song, with the most number of hits from its huge subscriber base. During Bieber’s promo visit in Japan, he was presented an Asia petition award for a Justin Bieber Asia Facebook campaign where fans were invited to register and sign a petition to bring Bieber to Asia. The campaign signed up over 340,000 fans within two months.

Bieber has surpassed 150 million YouTube.com views (the first 50 million of them as an amateur in 2007, posting renditions of his favorite hip-hop and R&B songs).
