MANILA, Philippines - After receiving critical acclaim for her portrayal of a beauty queen who was raped and dethroned, singer-actress Lovi Poe (photo) turns in another surprising, interesting performance as young singing sweetheart Gwyneth, who uses her beauty and power to get everything and anything she wants on GMA 7’s new dramaserye sa hapon, Little Star. In the Maryo de Los Reyes teleserye, Lovi is a popular superstar in love with a photographer who can’t commit to a relationship. Gwyneth wants true love, but because she is surrounded by the pressures of the business, and her dominant stage-mother is watchful of her every move, her innocence is eaten up by the system, and she becomes manipulative, heartless and ambitious. She wants to get what she wants, at any cost.
With Lovi in the series are Jennylyn Merado and Mark Anthony Fernandez.
“Jennylyn is someone I look up to, and I’m so looking forward to our scenes together,” says Lovi. Jennylyn will portray Helen, Lovi‘s alalay and Mark Anthony is the man who goes between them. Meanwhile, Lovi’s new film, White House is raking it in at the box-office. The film reportedly made more than P6-M on opening day.
