Former PAL flight attendant one of top UST '80 high grads

MANILA, Philippines - Former PAL flight attendant Hermes Ragon, with Pres. Noynoy ‘P-Noy’ Aquino, is one of the 10 Outstanding members of the UST high school batch ’80 along with, among others, Deo Endrinal and Enrico Santos both of ABS-CBN. The batch’s pearl (30th) anniversary reunion will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on Aug. 6 to 9. Hermes quit PAL after a near-fatal on-flight accident when a heavy suitcase from the overhead cabin fell on him. He had to be confined in the hospital for five months, with the expenses shouldered by the airline. The photo was taken when Hermes had a chance encounter with P-Noy in Trinoma in October last year. The then Sen. Noynoy asked Hermes if he should run for president and Hermes said, ‘Yes, you are God-sent.’ Sen. Noynoy then told Hermes, ‘You deserve to have a photo with me.’ Hermes said, ‘But I don’t have a camera.’ Noynoy said, ‘Use your celfone.’ Hermes, who now works at a leading call center, treasures the picture especially now that Noynoy the Senator has become P-Noy the President.
