MANILA, Philippines - Former Saturday Night Live cast member Tina Fey (photo) guest stars in the latest season of the show to air on Jack TV. The 34th season of Saturday Night Live (SNL) is set to debut tonight at 10.
The popular American comedy sketch show has launched the careers of many major American comics for the past 30 years. Based in New York City, SNL features a cast of on the rise comedians that are joined every week by a celebrity guest host and musical act.
Taking over hosting duties this season are the likes of Justin Timberlake, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Laurie, Neil Patrick Harris, Anna Faris, Seth Rogen and Will Ferrell.
Beginning the season with Olympic swimming gold medalist Michael Phelps as host, the first episode of the season is ranked as the second highest watched in SNL history thanks to the comedic prowess of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
Appearing as Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton, Fey and Poehler’s impersonations of the two received rave reviews. Apart from looking like Palin, Fey was highly-praised on perfectly imitating Palin’s accent and mannerism. Poehler, on the other hand, was applauded for her great comic timing — it is one skit that should not be missed!
Premiering also on Jack TV tomorrow, July 25 at 11 p.m. is Kathy Griffin for season three of the Emmy Award winning reality show, My Life On D-List.
Banned from most talk-shows on TV, Kathy’s no-holds barred style of humor normally lands her in hot water as she insults most of Hollywood’s top stars.
Returning with Kathy is her trusty assistant Jessica that can answer Kathy’s every need and her endearing parents John and Maggie who are behind in her in every thing she does.
