At Sampaguita studio during the ‘50s and early ‘60s, Rita Gomez and Luis Gonzales co-starred in several films, including an action-drama, Double Cross, with Carlos Salazar and Tony Marzan sharing above-the-title billing.
Other Rita and Luis starrers: Society Girl, Pasang Krus, Isang Milyong Kasalanan, Tatlong Ilaw sa Dambana, Kidnapped and Talipandas, which gave Ms. Gomez the 1958 FAMAS Best Actress award.
Rita was typecast in bad girl roles: Reyna Bandida, Reyna Maldita, Tatlong Magdalena (all for Sampaguita) and Laman sa Laman, Pagdating Sa Dulo, Ina Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?, Gamitin Mo Ako, Bomba Star (as freelancer).
