The most-at-peace person. That’s KC Concepcion describing how she feels now after parents Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta recently reunited on the latter’s ABS-CBN show.
“(People say) you must be the happiest girl in the world,” shares KC. “(I think) I’m probably the most-at-peace person at this moment.”
“I can say they’re friends,” says the host-actress-singer of her parents’ relationship.
Gabby and Sharon’s separation was one of the growing up pains KC bravely faced.
“Naturally, you wish that your parents spend more time together,” she recalls. “(Seeing your parents in their own relationships) is hard to understand for a kid.”
That’s why there was a point in KC’s life that she “didn’t believe in marriage. I was scared of getting so close to people because I always thought they would leave.”
Although acceptance didn’t come easily, KC learned to understand where her parents were coming from.
“I would have become a monster if she (mom Sharon) hasn’t explained everything,” says KC.
“She never speaks ill of Papa. She reminded me (then) of good things (about him).”
Now that her wish was granted, KC can’t contain her happiness. That makes her more naturally beautiful.
The Palmolive Naturals endorser considers having healthy habits like watching one’s diet and exercising regularly is a “building block” to being beautiful inside and out. This affects one’s overall disposition and physical well-being.
Being beautiful, she adds, is beyond appearance. People should get involved in programs that make a difference in the lives of others. KC is the national ambassador against hunger for the United Nations World Food Program.
How does she maintain her good looks?
KC replies, “One way to do it is to stick to brands that advocate natural beauty like Palmolive Naturals.”
The past weeks saw KC taping for and hosting Simply KC and attending to her advocacy work. In between, she filmed Star Cinema’s I’ll Be There starring dad Gabby and Jericho Rosales.
“I don’t demand a love life but I would appreciate,” KC updates everyone on her personal life. “There’s no time. I appreciate people who take time to visit me on the set. It’s great feeling they’re proving themselves and giving me time.”
Let’s have a peek into KC’s busy world.
4 a.m. — I leave the house for the shoot. On my way to the location, I sleep. My van has been like my house. I have my breakfast while doing makeup. I eat fiber crackers, (canned) tuna and coffee. Then I stay until the shooting ends.
My Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays are for I’ll Be There.
6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. — I tape for my show Tuesdays and Thursdays. We do all the episodes for the week. My show is divided into three parts: The video (shoot), the studio (work) and the excursion.
On Thursday, I also do my work as UN ambassador, attend presscons and dub for the movie.
Sundays are for The Buzz Live. I also do my voice over.
I find time for myself to relax. I go to the beach and scuba dive. I do four dives in a full day. This is how I feel away from the world. If not, I’ll have a simple lunch with my girl friends. Everything is scheduled. — Jerry Donato
