House of Saddam series on HBO

MANILA, Philippines - Revealing the private world of Saddam Hussein and his inner circle, House of Saddam charts the rise and fall of one of the most significant political figures in recent history when it premieres with Part I tomorrow, June 5, at 9 p.m. on HBO Signature. It will be followed by Parts II to IV daily at the same time.

The gripping four-part HBO mini-series offers a fresh perspective on the dictator, his relationships and his actions behind closed doors, retelling events from inside the very heart of the regime.

House of Saddam cast includes Igal Naor as Saddam Hussein; Shohreh Aghdashloo as Saddam’s first wife, Sajida; Philip Arditti, Saddam’s oldest son, Uday; Said Taghmaoui, Saddam’s half-brother, Barzan Ibrahim; and Christine Stephen-Daly as Saddam’s mistress and subsequent second wife, Samira.

Beginning in 1979, when Saddam seized control of Iraq in a bloody coup, the mini-series details the impact of his political ambitions and his belief in his own historical significance on his most trusted advisors, closest friends and family members — and on Saddam himself.

House of Saddam’s encores will air at 7.30 p.m. from June 23 to 26. For details, log on to www.hboasia.com.
