MANILA, Philippines - KC Concepcion earned her “celebrity” tag even when she was a baby because of her famous parents, Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion.
Now that she has entered the world of entertainment, there’s just no stopping for this freespirited woman. She entered theater, graced dozens of magazine covers and television commercials, starred in various television programs, and top-billed movies.
The Mega daughter is continuously making a name for herself. With her desire to do more and more, breaks and opportunities just seem to rush in KC’s feet. Despite all the success, KC has never forgotten to reach out as she sticks to the responsibility given to her by the United Nation’s World Food Program as its National Ambassador against Hunger.
Constantly accepting new challenges, KC freshly stepped on a new phase in her career as she accepted co-hosting duties with the country’s King and Queen of Talk, Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino, in The Buzz. Having been blessed with the gift of glib, KC constantly gets praises from the two showbiz authorities.
In her very own segment in The Buzz, Kcxclusives, KC easily established rapport with her interviewees. In the past four weeks, she was able to interview Agua Bendita star Andi Eigenmann, drama princess Kim Chiu and Impostor stars Maja Salvador and Sam Milby. She was indeed successful in bringing out the true personality behind every celebrity she interviewed.
Prior to her entry to showbiz, KC was rarely seen on national TV. But every time she appears, whether in her mom’s concerts or guests in her mom’s show, her charming personality never failed to enthrall viewers.
As she matured, advertisers and dozens of endorsements came knocking on KC’s door. KC took these opportunities with delight and finished school. In 2003, she became MTV Asia’s VJ, her first “hosting” stint.
KC revealed that her mom and stepfather, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, only allowed her to enter mainstream show business after college. So after she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Corporate Communications in the American University of Paris last 2007, she started accepting offers from ABS-CBN, also her mother’s home network.
Showcasing her different facets, KC got her first television project in ABS-CBN show titled KC, From Paris to Pinas, a documentary on her four-year stay in Paris. After that, she embarked on her first drama anthology on the said network, I Am KC. When she appeared in Maalaala Mo Kaya’s Mansyon episode, she earned positive reviews. Her May Bukas Pa guesting was promising. Meanwhile, her portrayal of Vivian in the hit series Lovers In Paris really defined her as an actress.
Movie projects also came pouring in KC’s bucket. Her big screen team-up with Richard Gutierrez, For the First Time became a blockbuster in 2008. In fact, during the premiere night of the said film, hundreds of fans flocked to SM Megamall filling all its three levels just to have the glimpse of the love team. With her effective portrayal in the movie, she earned the Breakthrough Performance by an Actress in the 6th ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards. Now, KC is busy with her upcoming movie under Star Cinema, I’ll Be There, with her father, Gabby, as one of its main characters. This is the first time that KC and Gabby will work together in the silver screen.
KC did not only enter the television and movie scenes, she also got her feet wet on recording. Just recently, her second album titled KC was launched. Her carrier single Not like the Movies is currently enjoying good airplay on various radio stations.
With all these said, KC has proven her worth in almost all entertainment platforms, from theater to film, from recording to television, and now, sharpening her hosting skills via The Buzz. Indeed, KC substantiates the word versatile.
