MANILA, Philippines - Trees shed tears when politicians nail campaign materials on them, but they couldn’t voice out their feelings.

We don’t know the basic drills to shield us from harm when a strong earthquake occurs. We just cross the bridge when we get there.

A child who wins an international award in Math or Science does not get a big welcome at the airport . In fact, he does not get any kind of welcome at all from government. Not so when a boxer wins. He is paraded around the city and is invited to make a courtesy call in Malacañang.

When it comes to talent in animation, Filipinos are not left behind. But we sorely lack resources in research and technology.

These are just some of the advocacies of the Agham Partylist headed by former DZMM station manager Angelo Palmones, Science Undersecretary Florentino Tesoro and Philvocs director Reynaldo Punongbayan. AGHAM stands for Alyansa ng Grupong Haligi ng Agham at Teknolohiya Para sa Mamamayan, Inc.

The partylist has helped many scholars in various parts of the country, especially in Mindanao. Agham Partylist is no. 49 in the ballot list.
