The Shang screens Alice in Wonderland

MANILA, Philippines - There were star sightings at the recent exclusive screening of Tim Burton’s highly anticipated film Alice in Wonderland as Shangri-La Plaza treated celebrities, their families and friends during the launch of its brand-new Digital Cinema.

Guests dove right into Alice’s Wonderland, thanks to the Shang’s Xpand active 3D glasses, the latest in 3D technology and touted as the way for film enthusiasts to make that leap into the next dimension — what with a wide viewing field, fast switching and better brightness and color accuracy.

Spotted enjoying the enhanced cinematic experience were 2009 CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida, Daphne Oseña-Paez, Ingrid Chua-Go, Donita Rose and husband Eric Villarama, Rica Peralejo and husband Joseph Bonifacio, Vince and Patricia Hizon, Ciara Sotto, Maxene and Saab Magalona, AJ Dee, Glaiza de Castro, Rich Asuncion, Nadine Samonte, StarStruck’s Steven Silva, Sarah Lahbati, Diva Montelaba, Enzo Pineda and Rocco Nacino, and cagers Zion Laterre and Jobe Nkemakolam.

Shang Plaza EVP and GM Lala Fojas says that the Shang Cineplex always wants to provide patrons with incomparable entertainment. “Installing the latest in 3D technology and introducing the use of active 3D glasses, a first in the country, is one of the many ways we can ensure that audiences get the chance to see, hear and feel films the way they were intended to, and in a whole different dimension.”
